The ADO bus network is very comfortable; the new Maya Train on some lines. Cancún is the gateway.
What to know before you go
- —Visit Chichén Itzá at opening (08:00); noon is both hot and crowded.
- —Wash off sunscreen before entering cenotes (be coral/water friendly); keep cash on you.
- —ADO buses are safe and comfortable; pick the sleeper class on night routes.
